Mission: The Muslim Law Students Association is a student-run organization aimed at providing an accessible resource to UCLA students and faculty on Islam and Muslims in order to educate and promote tolerance and understanding on campus and the greater community. The MLSA seeks to establish a strong student network that provides academic support, and to develop a network of UCLA alumni to.
The Muslim Student Association, or Muslim Student Union, of the U.S. and Canada, also known as MSA National, is a religious organization dedicated to establishing and maintaining Islamic societies on college campuses in Canada and the United States. It serves to provide coordination and support for affiliated MSA chapters in colleges across North America.
Another possible test that could be applied under a student body of law, is the Endorsement Test. The Endorsement test prevents, “particular religious’ belief being favored or preferred.” This test is similar to the second prong of the Lemon Test. We have recognized that the Plaintiff will most likely argue that religion is being advanced.
This includes a critical analysis of the legal history, jurisprudential development, the schools of Islamic law, classical and modern theories, evolution of the law up to the present, and its contemporary applications. Clubs such as Muslim Learning club, Muslim Student Association, and Islamic Culture club are but a few examples of Muslims creating their own space within public space. American schools tend to have pervasive cultures, allowing Muslim students to develop an educational identity and explore different meanings of the self, values, and an imagined future. These multilayered identities are fluid.
A personal statement is a persuasive essay, but one should focus on arguing for the qualities that make one a good law school candidate, not necessarily the change one hopes to effect with a law degree. This applicant clearly feels passionately about being a voice for the underprivileged, and her essay gives credence to her claim, but pleading to be given the chance to effect social change is.
